Park Ki Woong's "꽈당" video caused an unexpected stir.
On the 22nd, episode 16 of KBS 2TV weekend drama Recipe For Love (directed by Han Jun-seo and Bae Eun-hye, written by Park Ji-sook) featured a pride showdown between the Gong family and the Yang family at a couples' event.
In yesterday's broadcast, Han Seong-mi (played by Yoo Ho-jeong) and Gong Jeong-han (played by Kim Seung-soo) and Yang Dong-ik (played by Kim Hyeong-mook) and Cha Se-ri (played by Park Ki Woong) attended the Tae-han group event side by side and engaged in a tense battle of wills. Cha Se-ri excitedly talked about forming an in-law relationship with Tae-han, and Han Seong-mi mistakenly thought her daughter Gong Ju-a's (played by Jin Se Yun) boyfriend was Park Jun-hyeok (played by Han Seung-won). The two firmly drew a line, declaring that their children would not be involved, creating tension.
Also, Gong Ju-a and Yang Hyun-bin (played by Park Ki Woong) told Hwang Bo-hye-su (played by Kang Byul) and Park Jun-hyeok, who stepped in to reconcile the families, "We are not dating" and firmly shut that down. But Gong Ju-a secretly picked up a "appearance compliment" tip to win Cha Se-ri's heart. Immediately putting it into practice, while helping Cha Se-ri with a costume fitting she accidentally stabbed Cha Se-ri's waist with a dress pin, creating an awkwardly funny situation.
Meanwhile Gong Jeong-han took a one-point lesson and tried his golf swing. Enraged by Yang Dong-ik's teasing, Gong Jeong-han swung with too much force, missed the sweet spot, and the ball flew toward Cha Se-ri's face. Gong Ju-a shoved Cha Se-ri and caught the ball, but as a result Cha Se-ri rolled down the slope. This pushed the conflict between the two families into another uncontrollable phase.
When Yang Hyun-bin comforted a distraught Gong Ju-a, in a fit of anger Gong Ju-a suggested, "Shall we date for just one year?" But unable to face breaking up, the two agreed never to say such things no matter how hard things got, deepening their affection.
Changes continued in the Gong household. Yang Eun-bin (played by Yoon Seo-a) cooked porridge and fed the injured Cha Se-ri herself, and when she sincerely said, "From now on I will call you mom, not stepmom," Cha Se-ri shed tears of emotion. Later, during a conversation Yang Hyun-bin asked Cha Se-ri whether she would like whoever he liked, but Cha Se-ri specifically named Gong Ju-a and said it would be fine as long as it wasn't that woman, leaving a bitter aftertaste.
Around that time Gong Dae-han (played by Choi Dae-chul) and Yang Dong-suk (played by Jo Mi-ryung) ran into Lee Hee-gyeong (played by Kim Bo-jeong) and Min Yong-gil (played by Kwon Hae Seong) at the courthouse. Annoyed by their brazen attitude, Yang Dong-suk linked arms with Gong Dae-han and responded, "Honey," while Min Yong-gil threatened to use Min Ji-hu's (played by Cho Yi-hyun) custody as leverage. Gong Dae-han stood firm and vowed to reclaim the savings and deposit from Lee Hee-gyeong. Afterwards the two enjoyed arcade games and a meal for a divorce anniversary date, and Yang Dong-suk expressed heartfelt thanks for spending what she expected to be a sad day together, bringing viewers to tears.
Toward the end of the broadcast Yang Dong-ik learned that Hwang's lawmaker wanted to appear on "People's Theater," and with Gong Jeong-han continuing to refuse to co-appear on broadcasts he devised a plan. Then a video of Cha Se-ri falling at the event spread and views exploded, prompting the headquarters' HR team to decide to convene a disciplinary committee for Gong Ju-a. The ending featured Gong Ju-a looking at Yang Hyun-bin in shock at the unexpected situation, heightening anticipation for the next broadcast.
