Earlier, KBS2's The Seasons confirmed Sung Si Kyung as the ninth season MC and announced the program title as The Seasons-Sung Si Kyung's 고막남친, previewing the first broadcast on the 27th. "고막남친" is a name inspired by a nickname representing Sung Si Kyung, reflecting his sweet vocal tone and musical image as the concept.
However, after the title was revealed, online reactions were mixed, with some saying "it's far from the current sensibility" and others saying "a name fitting Sung Si Kyung," drawing attention.
Meanwhile, on the 22nd, Sung Si Kyung appeared on SBS's Running Man and candidly shared his feelings about the name. He said, "There was talk that a name like 'smile angel' wouldn't be bad," and added, "actually, there were more candidates besides '고막남친'," drawing interest. He went on, "Every moment felt a bit strange. I also thought let's just be funny," and added, "When a female guest appears, call her '고막여친', and for a group, '고막그룹' was also an idea," turning the set into a sea of laughter.
When Haha joked, "there's also 꼬막남친," Sung Si Kyung shot back, "you do things with that kind of feeling for a long time," and added, "I shouldn't laugh, but maybe it's okay because we're the same age," provoking uproarious laughter with a '40s man chemistry.'
The broadcast also revealed Sung Si Kyung's recent condition. Having recently succeeded in losing weight, he appeared with a sharper jawline, surprising the members, and said he became a cosmetics model, explaining his reason for dieting.
