Virtual group OWIS officially debuts today and opens the door to full-scale activities.
OWIS (Serin·Haru·Summer·Soi·Yuni) will release their first mini album "MUSEUM" at 6 p.m. on the 23rd through various online music sites.
OWIS stands for Only When I Sleep, meaning "only can be met in dreams." Their new release carries the meaning of collecting and exhibiting forgotten precious memories and pieces of emotion. The title track "MUSEUM" is a medium-tempo song highlighted by a gentle guitar riff; member Summer participated in the lyrics, lyrically depicting the process of finding her own light in a world that unfolds while asleep.
The music video was completed through a collaboration between the distinctively stylish Legend Film and global animation studio Studio Mir. The previously released OWIS trailer and the title track highlight medley generated buzz, and the music video teaser showcased original visuals where dream and reality intersect, raising expectations for the full video.
The album also includes the pop track "airplane:143," which captures the excitement of the midpoint between reality and dreams; the R&B song "juicy," which raises the song's completeness with an addictive hook, dreamy vocal color and honest lyrics; and "missing piece," which sings of a dream that has not disappeared.
Also included are "lonely lullaby," which depicts the process of healing loneliness; "ONLY WHEN I SLEEP," which embodies the team's identity of turning a virtual world into reality; "forNEVER," which combines intense hip-hop sounds with an R&B mood; and the English version of the title track, "MUSEUM (Eng Ver.)," for a total of eight tracks that add richness.
OWIS will hold a debut commemorative live "Welcome to MUSEUM" on their official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. that day. They will also open a pop-up store at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido until the 5th of next month.
