BTS member V shared candid stories about the album with fans after finishing the Gwanghwamun performance.
On the 21st, V of BTS conducted a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse and continued communicating with fans.
Earlier that day starting at 8 p.m., BTS held their fifth studio album comeback show 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE｜ARIRANG'(BTS comeback live "Arirang") around Gwanghwamun Square. Right after finishing the performance and returning home, V chose to communicate with fans instead of resting.
V said, "Hello. First of all, I heard that ARMYs returned safely. I just finished watching the Netflix Gwanghwamun video," and added, "I watched a lot of 'Arirang' album review videos on the way here today. I will try filming a review video myself," sighing at one point.
V said, "Because it had been a while since we performed, I was curious how our appearance would be reflected to ARMYs," and explained, "For this show and the concert, the seven of us prepared for a fairly long time. So we tried to prepare very hard."
He continued, "Because it was a look we were showing after a long time, I practiced really a lot, several times over, because I didn't want to be nervous and wanted to do well. I wanted to show perfection and be evaluated by ARMYs," revealing his complicated feelings.
V listened to songs while interacting with fans. In particular he explained, "Anyway, doing it alone feels awkward, but 'Body to Body' is the first track. Right now 'Arirang' comes out at the very end, and somehow that became the theme, so there are several versions of 'Arirang.'"
He added, "Arirang is something Koreans sing when they really want to laugh and also when they are sad; when a variety of emotions arise they sing 'Arirang,' and those emotions fit well with the latter part of 'Body to Body.' It wasn't my idea; the company suggested it stylishly, and I adapted to it. At first I was like, 'Huh?' but as I listened I was like, 'Oh,'" he said.
Next, about "Hooligan," V said, "This song is one I really like, and Jungkook suggested the theme. It's one of my top three favorite songs, and it's a song we prepared a lot so ARMYs would like it. We showed it at Gwanghwamun, and it seemed ARMYs saw for the first time that Namjoon hyung didn't perform in the middle of 'Hooligan.' Don't worry, there will probably be another choreography video. We will film the video again so there's no need to worry," he said.
While talking he added, "I lost a lot of weight, so exercise doesn't work," and while reading comments during the live broadcast he reacted, "There's a lot of English."
V also said, "Now that the singles are out and the album is out, it's like 'these are the songs, this is the album,' and it seems to be getting very good reactions from many people. Of course only one day has passed, but we really worked hard on this. Please show it lots of love, that's why I turned this on," explaining why he started the live broadcast.
