Turbo member Kim Jeong-nam praised Kim Jong Kook's good deeds and expressed respect.

Kim Jeong-nam said, "But he couldn't stand it after eight months and ran away. That's how Indigo came about. I needed someone who could sing fast like Jong Kook. The person I found that way was Jong Kook," adding, "I searched for him for a month and met him. To me, Jong Kook is a younger brother better than an older brother. That sums it up."
He went on, "What I mean by acknowledging him as a younger brother is, if he weren't in Turbo and had gone solo and done well and became number one, would he act conceited? Then I wouldn't see him," and added, "But (Jong Kook) isn't like that. When we first met he hugged me and said, 'I'll help you do what you want to do.' After 'Toto-ga' ended and the album came out, Jong Kook paid out of his own pocket."
Kim Jeong-nam said, "The music video alone cost more than 300 million won. Jong Kook paid for it out of his own pocket. But people don't know. They think the company paid the expenses, right? Jong Kook covered all the costs himself. It probably cost more than 300 million won."
He added, "These days I have a separate company. I told the company to let Jong Kook decide matters related to Jong Kook. I work hard on things I do alone. As for matters related to Turbo, especially those involving Jong Kook, I follow whatever Jong Kook decides. That's my contract condition."
