Singer Nam Jin recounted his experience serving in the Vietnam War.

Nam Jin talked about his service in the Vietnam War. Nam Jin said, "I was hit by a bomb. I was sitting and eating. At night we had to go on ambush. While getting ready I heard a sound. I had been there for a week so the war was unfamiliar to me," he began.
He added, "I was like, 'What's that?' and then a bomb fell right next to me. The shell buried itself in the sand. Fortunately it was a dud. If it had exploded, I wouldn't be here," he explained. Nam Jin added, "When you go on ambush you fire your gun every time. I had put a bowl next to me and it was hit. It was luck."
He said, "The most valuable time in life is the 24 months on the battlefield. Usually you only serve one year. Back then it was 36 months. After being there a year it was bearable. I was in my 20s then so I had audacity."
