Group VERIVERY member Kangmin raised expectations for his comeback by releasing the Highlight medley of his first solo single album 'Free Falling'.
Jellyfish Entertainment Co. released the Highlight medley video of Kangmin's first solo single album 'Free Falling' on its official social media channels on the 20th.
The Highlight medley contains portions of the three songs included in 'Free Falling' along with scenes that hint at the album's atmosphere, allowing listeners to feel the overall flow and emotional line in advance.
In the Highlight medley video, Kangmin delicately depicts different kinds of anxiety in each scene and expresses the image of standing on the boundary between boy and man through his own emotional line.
The first track, Intro : small, fragile and still here, is a song in which Kangmin's calm narration and delicate vocals are added within a rough texture like an old cassette tape. Kangmin participated in the lyrics, and leader Dongheon participated entirely in lyrics and composition to provide support.
The title track 'Free Falling,' which Kangmin participated in writing, is a contemporary R&B pop track that blends dynamic rhythms, guitar and the EP's ensemble. It depicts the unstable emotions of two people who precariously fall and circle, in a relationship that repeatedly pushes each other away and then holds each other again amid love and wounds.
The final track, in the mirror, is a mid-tempo pop song where punchy drums, deep bass and spatial synths harmonize, and Kangmin's sincere vocals delicately lead the melody, leaving a deep emotional aftertaste. It reveals the anxiety and self-confession of wanting to exist as 'the me as I am' but ultimately failing to embrace oneself.
This album, 'Free Falling,' captures Kangmin's time standing on the boundary between boy and man. Rather than a completed form or a future full of certainty, it is an album that calmly unfolds the anxiety and wavering encountered in the process of taking one step at a time without yet finding the right answer. Each of the three tracks raises expectations for Kangmin's deep musical spectrum through different kinds of emotions and moods.
Meanwhile, Kangmin's first solo single album 'Free Falling' is scheduled to be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 26th.
