The rapper BewhY, who has long shown devout faith and firm values, recently launched sharp criticism of the current state of sex education in elementary schools.
On the 20th, BewhY posted some photos on his personal SNS account that appear to be from sex education materials currently used in elementary schools.
The published textbook in the photo contains the content "Sex includes biological sex and social·culturally based social gender that serves as the criterion for judging men and women", "Rather than distinguishing sexes, it is important to correctly understand the various aspects of sex."
On top of this photo BewhY added the phrases "Are they sane?" and "Are the people who teach this committing a crime?", directly expressing strong doubt and displeasure about a social gender education method that goes beyond biological distinctions.
In subsequent posts BewhY went on to share Bible verses that support his beliefs.
"God created man in his own image; male and female he created them," "Therefore a man shall leave his parents and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh," "When he made them, he made them male and female," and other passages. BewhY appears to have used these to emphasize that gender is an essential created order ordained by God, not an artificial social choice.
Finally, BewhY reinforced his position by leaving the phrases "Freedom without truth is mere license" and "The way of truth is always one" on a black background.
Netizens' reactions to BewhY's posts are mixed. Some support him, saying "It is a principled statement from a public figure" and "He rightly pointed out parts that could cause confusion in children's education," while others voice concern that "it conflicts with the modern educational trend of respecting diversity."
In 2020 BewhY married a beautiful non-celebrity girlfriend with whom he had dated for eight years. He enlisted in the Korea Coast Guard as a conscripted policeman in August 2021, and while serving in the military he welcomed his first daughter in January 2023. He then welcomed a second child in February of last year.
