The five-member female rock band Rolling Quartz issued a statement regarding member Choi Hyun-jung's injury photos posted on social media.
On the 20th, Rolling Star Entertainment released a statement through official channels saying, "We apologize and would like to correct the facts regarding the injury photos recently released on the social media of our artist (Rolling Quartz's Choi Hyun-jung) and the speculative matters related to them."
Earlier, Choi Hyun-jung had posted a photo on her social media showing an injury on her neck. The photo has since been deleted, but various speculations circulated about it.
Rolling Star Entertainment said, "This incident occurred on the evening of March 18 while the artist was moving and a sudden dispute unexpectedly occurred on the street with an unspecified outsider. There was a physical confrontation with the emotionally agitated other party, and in the process the artist suffered minor abrasions," adding, "Immediately after the incident, we promptly assessed the situation at the scene, and after having a calm conversation with the other party, both sides resolved misunderstandings and amicably settled the matter and closed the case."
They added, "The artist is deeply reflecting for causing concern to fans through an imprudent response as a public figure, and our company also feels responsible for the lapse in managing the artist. We will take greater care in protecting and managing the artist's safety to prevent such incidents from recurring."
Meanwhile, Rolling Quartz is a five-member girl band made up of Ja-young, Airi, Choi Hyun-jung, Areum and Young-eun. They are scheduled to appear at the "Seoul Hero Rock Festival" held at the Culture Depot in Mapo District, Seoul, on April 25 and 26.
