BTS held a comeback live in Gwanghwamun and expressed thanks to fans.
On the 21st, BTS held "BTS comeback live: ARIRANG" at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Jongno-gu, Seoul. As it was their first full-group comeback stage in 3 years and 9 months, both the venue and online drew intense interest even before the performance.
Of the 22,000 seats set up at Gwanghwamun Plaza, about 15,000 police, firefighters and government officials were deployed to Gwanghwamun Plaza for security and safety.
The event opened with RM's greeting and the audience's cheers. RM, who announced an ankle injury, sat on a chair placed at the side of the stage and continued the performance by singing except for the choreography. RM said, "It's been four years since I greeted you like this. Hello, we are BTS," greeting the members.
Jin said, "The last time we gathered like this as a group was several years ago. I vividly remember asking you to wait for us at the last Busan concert, and I'm really grateful that you came like this. To be honest, I had a lot of worries before standing here. I'm grateful and happy to be able to face you all again."
Jimin said, "ARMY, we finally met. I'm overwhelmed and grateful to be able to speak in front of you like this. I'm so happy we can meet again as seven. I missed you. I really didn't expect you to fill Gwanghwamun Plaza today, I'm happy. Thank you so much."
Suga said, "It is an honor to be able to perform at one of the most historic places in Korea. For this album, we especially wanted to contain our identity, so we chose the title Arirang, and with that spirit we performed on the Gwanghwamun stage."
V said, "It feels new to be able to make a comeback at such a special place. ARMY members who came from far away to Gwanghwamun, and those watching worldwide via Netflix now. We waited a long time too. Wherever you are, we hope our feelings reach you."
J-Hope and Jungkook said, "It's unbelievable that the seven of us are together on this stage. Thank you for waiting," and "We prepared many special things for today. We will pour out everything we have," and performed "Butter".
