S.E.S. alum Shoo (real name Yoo Soo-young) revealed the shoes she has collected over 20 years.
On the 20th, the "Human That's Shoo" channel uploaded a video titled "Why do 20-year-old shoes look new? Shoo's 100-pair shoe closet reveal | From daily favorite shoes to lifelong care know-how!"
That day the production team suggested, "You talked about shoes earlier. We saw them then, but let's do a detailed shoe closet reveal today."
Shoo said, "I really like fashion; I like clothes and accessories, but the finishing touch of fashion is shoes. The choice of shoes carries the weight of the outfit," emphasizing the importance of shoes.
She said, "This is a space where the shoe closet breathes. Look down the line. See how many there are," as she revealed the shoes filling the pantry, drawing astonishment. Shoo boasted of the enormous number of shoes, saying, "Do you think I'm going to take all of these out today? There's more over here. This side has long boots and things for our eldest child, and Ra-hee and Ra-yul have the same shoe size as me. They always wear my shoes. So many are damaged, but I'll take them out diligently."
Later Shoo reappeared in the living room densely filled with shoes. She revealed, "If I take all of these out it won't fit in here. I only brought about one-third. This is a little over 100 pairs, roughly when I counted," eliciting admiration.
The production team asked, "Please introduce the good ones," and Shoo replied, "I don't think I threw shoes away much. I discarded many that were worn down or broken, and some are newly purchased, some are favorites, and some haven't been worn yet," adding, "I think I've collected them for about 20 years. When I was young I liked dress shoes. High heels, you know. I wore those a lot. Then I gradually moved to sneakers. As I got older there's no one to meet wearing heels, and when I go out it's usually to the supermarket so you can't go in heels. Lately this winter I mostly wore UGG slippers," describing how her tastes changed.
About a flashy silver pair of long boots, she said, "When I went to Italy a staff member at the Prada store insisted I had to buy these, saying they were shoes that appeared in a show. I think I bought them more than 10 years ago and I wore them only once. Still, they're pretty even like this."
When asked about the oldest shoes, Shoo took out a pair of black long boots. She said, "These are really old. I kept them since the S.E.S. days; I think I bought them in Japan at a vintage shop. It was when we were active in Japan, so 2001~2002."
Conversely, regarding shoes she regrets buying, she took out pink flat shoes and said, "There are shoes I don't wear. I bought them but I feel embarrassed to wear them. It's kind of like this. Maybe it would have been fine when I was younger, but at this age it's a bit much to wear these." She then mentioned, "There's also flashy ones," pointing to hot-pink heels with a large bow, and said, "They're so pretty. But if you sweep the floor they'll probably get dirty. I might just wear them around the house." At that moment the bow on the shoe fell off, and Shoo warned with a laugh, "Everyone, don't buy things like this. It's better not to buy them."
Meanwhile, Shoo debuted in 1997 as a member of the group S.E.S. and received much love; she married former basketball player Lim Hyo-seong in 2010 and has one son and two daughters. But recently she drew attention by revealing on YouTube that she is separated from Lim Hyo-seong.
