Broadcaster Choi Dong-seok recounted the tense situation when he went to the emergency room due to a sudden health problem.
On the 20th, Choi surprised fans on his social media by saying, "I actually went to the emergency room yesterday," and began to tell the story.
He explained the painful situation at the time, saying, "The stone (calculus) found in my kidney last year finally moved down, and because of that I experienced extreme pain again." He added details about his current condition and the prescription, saying, "The doctor said it had almost come all the way down, so drink lots of water and run and move around."
Even amid the pain, he showed firm determination to recover his health. Choi said, "So I took the bicycle that was in the room back out to the living room," announcing that he had started indoor exercise.
Choi has been consistently communicating with fans by sharing his daily life in Jeju. Upon news of the sudden trip to the emergency room, internet users have sent messages of support such as "How painful it must have been," "I hope you recover quickly," and "Drink lots of water and stay strong."
Meanwhile, Choi married broadcaster Park Ji-yoon, who was his KBS announcer colleague, in 2009 and had one son and one daughter, but they faced a breakup when he filed for divorce mediation in October 2023. Afterwards, conflicts surfaced publicly as counter-lawsuits over alleged affairs ensued.
In the first trial, both sides' adultery-related lawsuits were dismissed, but legal disputes moved to the appellate court after Choi filed an appeal. It was reported that the current appeal will proceed as a lawsuit between Choi and a third party excluding Park Ji-yoon.
Meanwhile, the children are currently being raised by Park Ji-yoon, and Choi is reported to be meeting the children through supervised visitation rights.
