'Gugidong Friends' delivers fun with the chaotic cohabitation of six people who boast a combined 80 years of living alone.
TvN's 'Gugidong Friends,' directed by Lee Seyoung, which will premiere at 8:35 p.m. on Apr. 10, is a zero-pretenses daily observational reality show about like-aged singles with strong personalities who have lived alone for a long time living honestly and boldly together under one roof.
The released second teaser video offers a preview of stories from Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Kyung Soo-jin, who are fully experiencing the pros and cons of living together at the Gugidong house, drawing interest.
In particular, the "cohabiting-friends" eat meals together that they would otherwise have eaten alone, take care of skin, share relationship worries and show the benefits of living together. Because they are peers, Jang Do-youn, Lee Da-hee and Kyung Soo-jin naturally share worries about eggs, while Choi Daniel, Jang Geun-seok and Ahn Jae-hyeon have frank conversations about prostate care, forming a sense of empathy; they also navigate unexpected events together, attracting attention with an unadorned daily life.
However, as Jang Geun-seok says, "I like being together, but I really like being alone," the fact that they are used to being alone makes the occasional need for alone time striking. Among them, the noise wars between roommates Jang Do-youn and Lee Da-hee, and between Choi Daniel and Ahn Jae-hyeon are previewed, amplifying the fun. Jang Do-youn bursts into laughter at Lee Da-hee's singing of "Golden" echoing through the wall from early morning. Sensitive-eared Ahn Jae-hyeon asks for silent mode because of Choi Daniel's message notification tone, and snoring makes restful sleep impossible.
Also, moments of bickering among the like-aged group provide amusement, such as Kyung Soo-jin pushing back with "Oh, so what?" at Choi Daniel's nagging, and Choi Daniel telling Jang Do-youn, "You can't go out before you get married." Viewers become more curious about the six roommates' cohabitation, who live like family at the Gugidong house and will come to resemble and adjust to one another.
