A college classmate who reported false information about mukbang creator Tzuyang to a YouTuber has been brought to trial.
On the 20th, MBC reported that the Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 2nd of last month summary-indicted classmate A, who reported the false claim that Tzuyang vomits after eating to a YouTuber, on a charge of defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection with a fine of 7 million won.
A, a college classmate of Tzuyang, is accused of reporting to the YouTube channel "주작감별사" in November 2020 the false claim, "On the day Tzuyang did the giant pasta mukbang, I witnessed traces of her vomiting the pasta."
A reportedly denied the charge in the prosecution investigation, saying it was true that they had spoken, but the prosecution judged that A's charge was proven when considering that the day A met Tzuyang was only the day the giant pasta mukbang aired and not the day it was filmed, and the statements of witnesses who were present.
Meanwhile, Tzuyang is a creator who presents mukbang content and currently has 13.1 million YouTube subscribers.
