Comedian Park Na-rae is undergoing a second police investigation in connection with allegations of abuse of power against her former managers.
According to police on the 20th, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station summoned Park Na-rae at around 1 p.m. that day as a suspect on charges of special injury and defamation and is under investigation. It has been about a month since the first investigation on the 20th of last month.
This investigation was reported to be aimed at additionally verifying the so-called "drinking-party abuse of power" allegations raised by the former managers. Earlier, two former managers filed a complaint with the police in December last year, saying they were subjected to verbal abuse and abuse of power by Park Na-rae.
They are said to have claimed that Park Na-rae verbally abused them for not drinking alcohol or threw a glass that injured them. The matter has led to a charge of special injury and an investigation is underway.
Park Na-rae's side also filed a countercomplaint against the former managers on charges including attempted extortion. As the two sides confront each other sharply, the police are said to be verifying the facts by synthesizing related statements and circumstances.
After the first investigation, Park Na-rae told reporters, "I will correct parts that are not true."
At the same time, Park Na-rae has also come under investigation for suspected violation of the Medical Service Act over allegations that she received illegal medical procedures from a figure known as the "injection aunt."
Meanwhile, the police plan to decide the future direction of the investigation based on the contents of the probe that day.
