Kim Joon-hyun recently endured an unexpected embarrassment. It was the aftermath of a controversy that he ignored fans in a morning arrival video filmed before the recording of KBS 2TV's entertainment program The Seasons - Ten Centimeters' patting on the 10th.
KBS conducts so-called "arrival" procedures during pre-recordings of many music programs such as MUSIC BANK, The Seasons, and Immortal Songs. Kim Joon-hyun got out of the car and naturally moved while looking at his phone under an umbrella held by a manager, and his passing by without acknowledging fans' greetings provoked criticism that it was arrogant.
Inside the building, a scene was captured in which Kim Joon-hyun appeared to brightly smile and bow 90 degrees toward someone who seemed to be a broadcast staff member, creating a contrasting atmosphere. Because Kim Joon-hyun usually delivers laughs with a public-friendly image in front of the camera, this kind of behavior has seemingly provoked stronger resentment.
Of course, because the videos capture moments of less than 30 seconds, debate continues. The image of him appearing to bow his head toward fans inside the building has also been mentioned, and there are even some defenses.
Meanwhile, Kim Joon-hyun is meeting viewers through the new variety show Welcome. Welcome first aired in 2017 and marks its 10th anniversary this year. To this end, the program sought to rebound by rehiring the symbolic Kim Joon-hyun after a six-month hiatus.
