The tumultuous rural adaptation story of city family Park Sung-woong starts.
KBS 2TV's new miniseries 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri', scheduled to premiere on the 26th, released a comprehensive preview video today (the 19th), kicking off the one-week countdown to the first broadcast.
Simu-myeon Yeonriri is a slapstick family reboot healing drama about the genuine city family Seong Tae-hoon household, who abruptly land in the pristine fierce(?) area "Yeonriri," and struggle to stage a comeback to Seoul.
The released video opens with the village chief Im Ju-hyung (Lee Seo-Hwan) greeting the Seong Tae-hoon (Park Sung-woong) family, who moved to rural Yeonriri, with an adorably playful hello. Im Ju-hyung striking a heart pose while saying "Welcome to crime-free Yeonriri" makes viewers burst out laughing.
City family Seong Tae-hoon, Jo Mi-ryeo (Lee Soo-kyung), Seong Ji-cheon (Lee Jinwoo), Seong Ji-sang (Seo Yun-hyeok), and Seong Ji-gu (Yang Woo-hyeok) attract the full attention of Yeonriri residents simply for being from Seoul, and Seong Tae-hoon announces to the whole village his goal of developing cabbage, drawing further attention.
In response, Yeonriri's veteran resident Im Ju-hyung treats Seong Tae-hoon like a thorn in his side as he tries his hand at cabbage farming, clashing with him at every turn. The daily life of Seong Tae-hoon's wife Jo Mi-ryeo, who faces not-quite-hidden territoriality from the women's association president Nam Hye-seon (Nam Kwon-ah), is also captured, and the Seong family's adaptation to Yeonriri hits obstacles.
Seong Tae-hoon, entrusted with the grave mission of succeeding in cabbage farming to return to Seoul, does not give up for his family despite Im Ju-hyung's checks. Vowing "if you don't have teeth, use your gums," Seong Tae-hoon continues rural life with zero farming knowledge and experience. Questions arise about whether the Seong family can sink into "Yeonriri" and where this unpredictable forced move to the countryside will lead.
Moreover, the Seong family's eldest son Seong Ji-cheon begins to change little by little even in the unfamiliar environment after meeting the village chief couple's only daughter Im Bo-mi (Choi Gyu-ri). The growing attraction between the two stirs excitement, and viewers eagerly await the broadcast for not only harmless laughs but also a ticklish romance.
Meanwhile, Simu-myeon Yeonriri is directed by Choi Yeon-su, who jointly directed 24시 헬스클럽, Crazy Love, and The Spies Who Loved Me, and is co-written by Song Jeong-rim, who wrote My Merry Marriage and The Bride of the Typhoon, and Wang Hye-ji, who wrote Romance without Love.
