Voice actor and broadcaster Seo Yu-ri publicized the divorce agreement two years after the divorce and captured some malicious comments.
On the 19th, Seo Yu-ri posted on her social account a photo capturing a post that said, "I had far more money and assets. What are you talking about. I had nothing but debt since 2019. I have never once earned more than him," and internet users' comments.
The published photo contained comments such as "After about 5 years of marriage, 320 million won. Worth divorcing," and "If I were a woman, I would marry a rich man, live exactly 5 years and then pull the classic half-and-half move? If you meet an asset owner with about 10 billion won, earning 5 billion won in 5 years is 1 billion won a year? Wow, amazing, creative economy."
Seo Yu-ri earlier released the agreement she and her ex-husband, PD Choi Byung-gil, wrote at the time of their divorce. According to the agreement, PD Choi Byung-gil must pay Seo Yu-ri a total of 323 million won by Dec. 31, 2024, as property division. If payment is delayed, 12% annual interest will be added from Jan. 1, 2025.
The agreement also specifies that "aside from the 320 million won, there will be no property division due to the divorce," and "if Choi Byung-gil violates the payment, Seo Yu-ri may claim payment of the amount through separate litigation."
Although the promised deadline has passed by more than a year, Seo Yu-ri appears not to have received the agreed property division amount yet. After some internet users left malicious comments, Seo Yu-ri corrected the record and asserted her rightful claims.
Meanwhile, Seo Yu-ri and PD Choi Byung-gil married in 2019 but divorced in June 2024.
