BTS's fifth full-length album 'Arirang' (ARIRANG) is set to be released in one day.
BTS on the 19th at 12 a.m. released an additional teaser of the music video for the title track "SWIM" from the new record 'Arirang' on their official social media and YouTube channel. While the first teaser released on the 18th piqued curiosity with a woman gazing at a ship model displayed in a museum, this time the seven members of BTS fully revealed themselves. The video begins with the "SWIM" audio playing in the background, showing the bow of a white sailing ship cutting through the sea. Standing side by side on the enormous ship, they gaze forward without wavering. The film-like grand production and the members' resolute energy raise anticipation for the full release to a peak.
This music video was directed by world-renowned director Tanu Muino. He has collaborated with global pop stars including Post Malone, Doja Cat and Dua Lipa, as well as directing Jungkook's solo music video "Standing Next to You." Global attention is focused on the sensuous visual style that Tanu Muino's singular mise-en-scène will deliver.
The title track "SWIM" is an upbeat alternative pop song that sings about continuing to move forward without stopping amid life's waves. It expresses the will to calmly swim through the surging currents at one's own pace as a "love of life." RM participated in the overall lyric writing, adding depth to the song, and Chairman Bang Si-hyuk took charge of the album's overall producing to enhance its completeness.
BTS will release the new record at 1 p.m. on the 20th and will appear on the popular U.S. NBC program "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on March 25-26 (local time). The "Jimmy Fallon" show surprised fans on the 18th by posting a video on its official social media announcing BTS's appearance. In the video, Jimmy Fallon yelled "BTS RETURNS ON MARCH 25TH," unable to contain his excitement. The seven members will visit the program as a full group for the first time in about 4 years and 8 months since July 2021. Expectations are building for the new stage and the cheerful synergy they will present.
Meanwhile, BTS will run the urban project "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL" (hereafter "The City Seoul") across downtown Seoul from the 20th through April 19. Visitors will enjoy various offline programs and experience the "scarcity of experience" that can be felt only at specific places and times. This "The City Seoul" actively uses red, the key color of the new record 'Arirang,' to offer a variety of sights. The media facades on Sungnyemun and Namsan Seoul Tower and the drone show that will adorn Ttukseom Hangang Park are major programs not to be missed on the album release day, the 20th.<
