One Hundred Label released a statement regarding The Boyz members' declaration to terminate exclusive contracts.
One Hundred Label issued an official statement on the 19th, saying, "We signed contracts by paying large exclusive contract fees per member on the premise that all 11 members of The Boyz would fulfill the contract period and promote as one team."
The agency said, "Due to various controversies involving the members last year, that premise collapsed, and as a result one member even withdrew from the team, making normal group activities difficult," and explained, "Nevertheless, we persuaded affiliated companies that suffered losses and have striven to maintain group activities, even shouldering large deficits."
Accordingly, the demand by The Boyz members to terminate their exclusive contracts cannot be accepted, adding, "We maintained support for The Boyz such as vehicles, managers and practice rooms as before and expressed our intention to provide them normally, but the members first rejected these and are ignoring our support."
It also emphasized, "The claim that CEO Cha Ga-won took the members' accommodation deposit and used it is a malicious allegation with no basis and is clearly false."
Earlier that day, excluding New, The Boyz members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo and Eric announced termination of their exclusive contracts with One Hundred Label, citing unpaid settlement payments and other reasons.
The following is the agency's full statement.
Hello, this is One Hundred Label Co., Ltd.
We hereby state our position regarding the exclusive contracts between our company and The Boyz members as follows.
We signed contracts by paying large exclusive contract fees per member on the premise that all 11 members of The Boyz would fulfill the contract period and promote as one team. However, due to various controversies involving the members last year, that premise collapsed, and as a result one member even withdrew from the team, making normal group activities difficult.
Nevertheless, we persuaded affiliated companies that suffered losses and have striven to maintain group activities, even shouldering large deficits.
We cannot accept The Boyz members' request to terminate their exclusive contracts while ignoring this situation.
In particular, some parts of today's article by The Fact Co. differ from the facts. We clearly state that we maintained support for The Boyz such as vehicles, managers and practice rooms as before and expressed our intention to provide them normally, but the members first rejected these and are ignoring our support.
In particular, we inform you that the claim that CEO Cha Ga-won took the members' accommodation deposit and used it is a malicious allegation with no basis and is clearly false.
In this regard, we plan to take strong legal action against The Fact Co.<
