Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok drew attention by leaving cryptic posts on the same day.
On the 17th, Park Ji-yoon said, "Lately people around me say I look innocent and also that I look drained, but I'm doing my best to raise my energy, okay?" She continued, "The story of a day struggling hard in quiet Jeju. Living as a mother and as myself can be overwhelming at times, but no one is without hardship, so let's gather our strength together," expressing complicated feelings.
On the same day, Choi Dong-seok also posted on his social media. Along with a photo of him hand-copying a line from Nietzsche, he shared the idea that "being bound by the past prevents you from moving forward." He went on to say, "It's like walking forward but constantly looking back. The direction we must go is not backward but forward," delivering a pointed message.
Choi Dong-seok also said, "My morning condition was the worst, but I got myself up," and added, "If you want to move forward, rest for a moment," showing himself regrouping.
The posts, appearing at different times, have drawn more attention as they coincide with an ongoing divorce lawsuit.
The two married in 2009 and had one son and one daughter, but they filed for divorce mediation in October 2023, marking the breakdown of their marriage. Afterwards, conflicts surfaced as counterlawsuits over alleged infidelity followed.
In the first trial, both parties' adultery lawsuits were dismissed, but Choi Dong-seok filed an appeal, taking the legal dispute to the second trial. It has been reported that this appeal trial will proceed as a lawsuit between Choi Dong-seok and a third party, excluding Park Ji-yoon.
Currently, the children are being raised by Park Ji-yoon, and Choi Dong-seok is known to be meeting the children through visitation rights.
