The Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand, which was released on the 6th, is a romantic comedy about a webtoon producer, Mi-rae (played by Ji-su), who is exhausted by real life and fulfills her romance fantasies by subscribing to and experiencing virtual dating simulations. Ha-young played Mi-rae's close friend and a character brimful of longing for romance, Ji-yeon Lee, bringing an impactful presence to the drama through the final episode.
Ji-yeon is a dynamic character who often goes on blind dates wanting to be in a relationship but repeatedly fails, and then experiences many romances through the virtual dating subscription service Boyfriend on Demand. Ha-young portrayed Ji-yeon's quirky yet lovable side with nonchalance as Ji-yeon serialized a "Boyfriend on Demand strategy guide" on her blog, which drew explosive page views and captivated viewers.
In particular, her flawless back-and-forth with the protagonist Mi-rae showcased a genuine close-friend chemistry that not only increased immersion but also left a deep impression when she began officially subscribing to the Boyfriend on Demand service starting in episode 8.
