Park Shin-yang said about his life work Paris Lover "I actually don't remember much. Right after filming started I injured my back in France and I was given too many painkillers," surprising the cast.
Park Shin-yang's injury began with a trivial movement. At the time the filming site was a harsh environment where they had to stay up every night, and while shooting a light scene in which he threw a bag, excessive force caused a herniated disc in his back.
Although it was a desperate situation with a ruptured disc in Paris, France, Park Shin-yang gritted his teeth and endured it for the filming schedule and returned to Korea. He also noted, "I couldn't sit during the flight and stood," giving a sense of how severe his condition was at the time.
There was no rest even after arriving in Korea. Park Shin-yang said, "I had back surgery with domestic filming remaining, but I got up immediately and filmed," indicating he returned to the set right after the surgery. He added, "I used crutches and filmed from start to finish. I stayed up so many nights that I don't even remember how we finished," which left those around him somber.
