"I am SOLO" season 30's romance faced a new variable ahead of the final choice.
On the 18th, the real dating show I Am SOLO on SBS Plus and ENA revealed that the triangle between Youngsu, Sunja and Oksun intensified, fierce competition over the "super date pass" erupted, and the season 30 love lines were thrown into upheaval.
Earlier, in the "simultaneous date choice," Sunja, who did not receive Youngsu's choice, bitterly passed Youngsu and Oksun and returned to the lodging. Later, while talking with Jeongsuk, Yeongja and Hyunsuk, Sunja accidentally fell asleep, and when Oksun, who had finished talking with Youngsu, entered the lodging, Sunja hurriedly left her seat.
After a night of mixed fortunes, the next morning Sunja complained to the solo women, "Youngsu said his feelings are 60-40. I feel like I'm the 60; if it were 70-30 I might not know...," expressing hurt. At the same time, in the men's lodging, Youngsu, talking with Sangcheol, said in confusion, "Right now my first choice is Oksun, but I'm not sure." Later, when Youngsu went to the women's lodging and joked to Sunja, who was lying in the massage chair, "You'll get bruised like that," Sunja replied cynically, "I already have a lot of bruises in my heart, so it's fine." When Oksun appeared, Sunja again left her seat and went up to the second floor.
Oksun immediately requested a one-on-one talk with Youngsu. There, Youngsu confessed, "If I won the 'super date pass,' I had planned to use it on Sunja. I wanted to sort out my thoughts by talking one-on-one." Oksun calmly said, "I'll try to let my feelings down a bit." Shortly after, in an interview with production staff, Youngsu said, "(Oksun) is a very mature person. I'm feeling more drawn to her." Meanwhile, Sunja sighed and showed discomfort whenever she crossed paths with Oksun. Noticing this, Oksun eventually went to Youngsu and encouraged him, "Try talking with Sunja."
Calling Sunja out, Youngsu opened with, "You knew I chose Oksun," and Sunja sulked, "Still, I was disappointed." Youngsu asked, "Why didn't you request a talk yesterday?" and Sunja trailed off, saying, "You seemed to be talking well with Oksun..." Youngsu then snapped, "Do you think it's over now? If I were Sunja I would have been more proactive." Sunja, who thought she was the '6', was startled and said, "Am I a 4? Why?" Youngsu candidly said, "Right now my feelings are tilting more toward Oksun."
With all of season 30 gathered, the "super date pass" mission began. In the first tug-of-war contest, Sangcheol and Jeongsuk placed first among the men and women respectively. Then a writing contest on the theme "When a woman who dated for 100 days meets a man" was held; in the men's division Gwangsu won, and in the women's division Youngsook and Oksun tied and won the "super date pass."
Afterward, Jeongsuk asked Youngcheol and Yeongja for their understanding and used her "super date pass" on Yeongsik. Youngcheol interpreted Jeongsuk's move as "consideration for me who was not feeling well," but Jeongsuk told the solo women she was disappointed by Youngcheol's attitude of giving up the writing contest and therefore did not ask for a date. Gwangsu used his pass on Yeongja, Sangcheol on Sunja, and Youngsook on Youngho. Oksun secured two passes in total, including an extra date pass won in a gymnastics game, and used one of them on Youngsu. Learning this, Sunja told the other solo women, "I'm mad. I'm jealous," pouring out her upset.
Taking on the "super date," Youngsook and Youngho engaged in a power struggle from the start. When Youngsook said, "Gwangsu told Sangcheol he would choose Youngho today," Youngho asked, "Isn't there anyone else besides me?" and Youngsook retorted, "Does that matter?" Youngho elaborated, "Because it will determine whether I should take it seriously, I feel a sense of responsibility," and Youngsook snapped, "So are you saying you would do it without responsibility?" Getting exasperated, Youngho said, "It's hell right now..." MC Defconn, watching their exchange, criticized, "The conversation is somewhat bizarre." After the date, Youngsook told production, "(Youngho and I) are similar in our negative sides, so I doubt whether we can continue into a good relationship." Youngho also said with mixed feelings, "If we clash like this without even dating, it might be worse when we go outside."
Meanwhile, while Jeongsuk and Yeongsik and Oksun and Gwangsu enjoyed their "super dates" affectionately, Youngsu and Yeongja, left alone in the lodging, quietly revealed their true feelings to each other. When Yeongja said she was struggling because she was not sure about Yeongsik, Youngsu, as if waiting for the moment, brought up day two, saying, "I was so depressed that Yeongja didn't choose Youngsu." Yeongja murmured, "(Youngsu) saying I wouldn't fit because of the possibility of a long-distance relationship or a weekend-marriage affected me. I want to start again, from the first day." Youngsu smiled meaningfully, "Shall we stir things up once?" and Yeongja replied, "Let's stir it up." Whether Youngsu and Yeongja will create a dramatic reversal a day before the final choice raises curiosity for the next broadcast.
