Lisa Kudrow (62), Hollywood actress and the eternal Phoebe from the sitcom 'Friends', confessed to a bizarre side effect she recently experienced after a Botox procedure and declared "I will never have cosmetic procedures again."
On the 18th (local time), according to foreign outlets Daily Mail and The Hollywood Reporter, Kudrow said she experienced severe swelling and inflammation in her eyes after recently receiving Botox injections.
Kudrow, who said she tried Botox for the first time only after turning 60, said, "Botox caused irritation in my eyes, and a very strange pattern appeared on my forehead," adding, "I think I'm completely done with Botox now."
She said, "Sometimes I'm afraid of seeing myself as a grandmother in the mirror someday, but at the same time I'm excited to play older roles," suggesting she has decided to accept the natural aging process.
Kudrow coolly acknowledged that she had rhinoplasty when she was 16, recalling, "It was a very good change that changed my life." But now past sixty, she is firmly drawing a line on further cosmetic surgery.
On the podcast Armchair Expert, she said, "What scares me more is a surgery going wrong and not healing, or my appearance becoming unnaturally altered," and added, "There were times I wondered, 'Should I do it too?' because everyone else seemed to be getting procedures, but I ultimately decided not to because I was worried it might interfere with viewers' experience of seeing me."
Meanwhile, Kudrow is set to see the release of season 3 of the HBO series The Comeback on the 22nd. In the series she gives a powerful performance as Valerie Cherish, a former star whose fame is fading.
After first airing in 2005, the series, which repeatedly faced cancellation and revival despite critical acclaim and low ratings, will conclude its long journey with season 3. Kudrow said, "Finishing this story as a trilogy is a matter of respect for the character and the audience," officially confirming this will be the final season.<
