"Welcome' Paco mentioned the meaning the Eiffel Tower holds.
On the afternoon of the 19th, the MBC every1 variety show 'Welcome, First Time in Korea' (hereinafter Welcome) aired a story about 'Paris landmark' Paco and his friends' trip to Korea; Paco had spent 16 years under the Eiffel Tower in Paris interacting with numerous Koreans and dreaming of going to Korea.
The Korean production team searched for Paco near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, and late at night they finally met the real Paco wearing a Korean 'Paco' hat. The production team, having finally met Paco, began a full interview.
Paco greeted in Korean, "Hello, my name is Paco. I am African (from Senegal), and I now live in France." He added that it has already been 16 years since he came to France. "I came because I had family in France (Paris), but now they have all moved to other regions," he said, adding, "Rather than doing bad things on the street, I chose to sell Eiffel Tower models to earn even a little money to eat and live."
While selling Eiffel Tower souvenirs, Paco showed impressive Korean skills and quickly became a hot topic on domestic internet forums.
He added, "The Eiffel Tower is not simply a workplace to me; it is special. It was at the Eiffel Tower that I first met Koreans and began to speak Korean, and all of this is a gift the Eiffel Tower gave me."
Meanwhile, 'Welcome, First Time in Korea' returned after finishing its broadcast last October and taking six months to reorganize. Expanding the existing format in which guests travel at the host's invitation, it completely changed into a format that allows any foreigner anywhere in the world who truly loves and wonders about Korea to come. <
