Broadcaster Lee Hwi-jae's 'Immortal Songs' return stage broadcasting schedule has been released, drawing attention. It drew interest because it was already a hot topic even before recording.
Lee Hwi-jae participated in the recording of KBS 2TV Immortal Songs held at the KBS new building public hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 16th. This is his first domestic broadcast grants in about four years since Battle in the Box, which ended in 2022.
However, the return process attracted even more attention as it became a hot topic. It was reported that Lee Hwi-jae attended the recording alone without a separate exclusive contract or manager and carried out the schedule, because he avoided the press to the extent that the act of attending the recording was nicknamed a 'sneak' commute. Earlier, Lee Hwi-jae stopped broadcast activities after the controversy and went to Canada with his family for a long break. Therefore, his family did not join him at the site. It was reported that his wife Moon Jeong-won and his twin sons are currently staying in Canada, while managers who worked with him in the past came to the site to offer support. However, it was said that there is currently no official affiliation or support system.
This recording was themed as an "entertainment industry king of singers special," and it was reported that various entertainers including Cho Hye-lyeon, Hong Seok-chun, Park Joonhyung, Song Il-gook, Oh Man-seok, Kim Shin-young, Park Seong-gwang, and Moon Seyoon appeared together. Lee Hwi-jae chose Choi Ho-seop's "If Time Passes" to perform on stage.
Immortal Songs, which includes Lee Hwi-jae's return stage, is scheduled to air over two weeks on Mar. 28 and Apr. 4. Amid mixed public opinion, attention is focused on whether Lee Hwi-jae can use this stage as an opportunity to recover his image.
