Actor Baek Sung-hyeon proved his presence by successfully completing the first performance of the musical "Eyes of Dawn."

This was because he began under the heavy burden of serving as a "proxy apology" amid recent internal and external turmoil such as performance disruptions. In this context, Baek Sung-hyeon reportedly won over the audience with his skill and sincerity.

That day the performance was made more meaningful by the attendance of firefighters invited personally by Baek Sung-hyeon. Baek Sung-hyeon's "special loyalty" also shone. During preparations for the performance, he reportedly prepared nourishing lunch boxes such as bulgogi, eel, and barley dried yellow corvina for exhausted fellow actors and staff, warming the atmosphere on site.
The musical "Eyes of Dawn" is drawing attention as an immersive production that minimizes the distance with the audience through a 360-degree stage structure and large LED effects. The production team said, "From the start, the dense acting captivates the audience at once," and explained, "A strength is that the actors freely use the stage and breathe closely with the audience."
The work is based on the drama of the same name that aired in 1991, which recorded a peak viewership rating of 58.4%. When it premiered in 2019, it was recognized for its quality after being nominated for best production at the Korea Musical Awards.
The musical "Eyes of Dawn" is being performed at Yeomyeong at Converse Stage Arena in Dongjak District, Seoul, and runs through Apr. 26.
