Actor Park Jae-hyun candidly revealed his married life and divorce process, and online debate continues over his remark about "breakfast conflict."
On the 17th broadcast of TV CHOSUN's "X's private life," Park Jae-hyun was shown candidly discussing his marriage, divorce and even his daughter's health problems.
Park Jae-hyun is an actor who worked for about 20 years in MBC's reenactment program "Mystery TV Surprise" and was nicknamed "Surprise Jang Dongkeon." He married a partner 16 years younger three years ago, and the couple became a topic of conversation when they announced a pregnancy after six months of dating.
At the time Park Jae-hyun recalled, "We greeted both sets of parents and they readily gave their permission to marry," and "we promised to raise the child well and live happily."
But married life was not smooth. In particular, his daughter's health problems became a major factor. Park Jae-hyun said, "When my daughter was five months pregnant she was diagnosed with the congenital heart disease 'transposition of the great arteries,'" adding, "it is a rare condition in which the positions of the heart and blood vessels are reversed and required four surgeries by the age of five."
He said that after the third surgery, with the last surgery approaching, he suggested living with his parents and that his wife agreed. However, he explained that conflicts began during this process.
Park Jae-hyun said, "I think family means eating together and having conversations," and added, "my wife had trouble getting up in the morning and during the week my parents were here we couldn't have breakfast together." He added, "The fight started when I said let's have breakfast together even for one day before my parents left."
Listening to this, host Jang Yoon Jeong asked, "Why was he so obsessed with breakfast?" and Kim Gu Ra said, "He may have felt like a sinner amid the child's illness and financial burden," showing an attempt to understand the situation.
When the "breakfast" issue continued to be mentioned as the cause of the conflict, Jang Yoon Jeong jokingly said, "that damn breakfast," drawing laughter.
