Director Hong Sangsoo and actress Kim Min-hee were reported to have been spotted at Incheon Airport with their young son. It has been a year since photos of the three taking a walk in Hosu Park were released.
Recently, a post on an online community caught attention saying director Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee appeared at Incheon International Airport with their son.
The author of the post said of Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee's son, "The baby was really cute," and "Babies seem to grow up quickly. A nanny or a manager was with them," they said. They explained that director Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee were not wearing hats or masks to cover their faces, and that they were carrying large bags and a stroller.
The author went on, "Many Korean people recognized them," and mentioned the confident Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee who did not seem to care about others' gazes, saying, "(Kim Min-hee) was not as flashy as before and was ordinary yet pretty."
Earlier, the Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee couple were first seen with their son last April, drawing attention.
At the time, a three-shot showing the couple enjoying a walk with their young son at Misa Hosu Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province was posted on an online community. In the released photos Kim Min-hee was holding her son, and Hong Sangsoo showed affection by stroking his son's head. A middle-aged woman who appeared to be a passerby approached Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee to look at the son, and the warm atmosphere of the three drew attention.
In particular, Hong Sangsoo, who became a late father at 65, smiled broadly as he looked at his son, who was estimated to be three weeks old, and could not take his eyes off him as if he was affectionate. Kim Min-hee also left a deep impression with a pose cradling her son tenderly.
Previously, Hong Sangsoo and Kim Min-hee took the stage at the press screening for the film Night and the Sea Alone in March 2017 and confessed, "We are in love with each other." Afterwards, director Hong Sangsoo filed for divorce mediation against his current wife, but it was dismissed, and in June 2019 his divorce suit was also dismissed and he gave up appealing.
Their affair caused a major social stir, and as criticism grew they stopped all domestic activities and have focused on overseas activities, mainly attending international film festivals.
Meanwhile, news of Kim Min-hee's pregnancy was reported in January last year, and about three months later news was released that she had given birth to a son. Kim Min-hee had her first child at 43, and director Hong Sangsoo became a late father and his second son at 65. He has an older daughter with his legal wife.
Meanwhile, director Hong Sangsoo recently premiered his new film The Day She Returned, in which Kim Min-hee participated as production manager, at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. The Day She Returned was officially invited to the panorama section of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival and is scheduled for domestic release in the first half of this year.
