Comedian and film director Ahn Sang-tae and his wife, artist Inbin (INBIN, real name Jo In-bin), are drawing attention from domestic and international media by demonstrating a distinctive teamwork in the creator market.
Ahn Sang-tae uses his film production and video directing experience to professionally support his wife Inbin's content sound design and direction. The two are more than just a married couple; as partners who share artistic inspiration, they create synergy. Ahn Sang-tae said the greatest reward is being part of the process of having his wife's artistic world recognized in the global market and offered full support.
Jo In-bin, a graduate of Hongik University College of Fine Arts, runs the INBIN ASMR channel based on her experience as an illustrator in the advertising industry. Her content is evaluated as a piece of digital art in which 'restrained aesthetics and meticulous sound' are combined, going beyond simple sound delivery.
Single YouTube videos have reached 40 million views, and on Instagram she holds numerous mega-hit videos with over 30 million views. Combined subscribers across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram surpassed 900,000 in about a year since launch.
Inbin's sensibility reached global celebrities as well. At the end of last year, Bianca Censori, the wife of Kanye West and an architect, personally invited Inbin to the privately held performance art exhibition "BIO POP" in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
Bianca Censori expressed her invitation directly via Instagram direct message, and the two met at the venue and shared an artistic rapport. Inbin responded by gifting handmade merchandise, and later produced an ASMR work inspired by Bianca's exhibition that drew a passionate response from the global fandom.
Riding this buzz, well-known domestic and international brands spanning fashion, beauty and lifestyle such as Yuhan-Kimberly, YG PLUS, Musinsa Beauty and Pop Mart are racing to request collaborations. Inbin has emerged as a new icon in advertising by reinterpreting each brand's identity as a "digital art" that encompasses both the visual and the auditory, beyond merely promoting products.
The Ahn Sang-tae–Jo In-bin couple plans to continue innovative work that breaks down the boundaries between art and digital content, further solidifying their position in the global media market.
