On the March 16 broadcast of the SBS variety show A-ni geunde jin-jja, the cheerful close-friend chemistry between Lee Suji and Ji Ye-eun was revealed.
On that day the cast members mentioned the time in the past when Lee Suji received an award at the Baeksang Arts Awards and Ji Ye-eun cried. At the time some even ran articles suggesting Ji Ye-eun 'might have been crying because of stomach pain,' which became a topic of discussion.
In response, Ji Ye-eun expressed her frustration. She said, "I never even thought I would win an award. I cried because I was so happy that Suji unni won," and joked, "Lately I feel like I'm going through menopause," drawing laughs. She added, "I didn't go because I wanted an award; I went to watch. I just wanted unni to win."
She especially recalled the difficulties Lee Suji experienced while active on SNL. Ji Ye-eun said, "At first I thought the story that unni was the victim of a jeonse fraud was a lie," and "I thought she had gone out alone to eat. But she said she even had to go to the community service center and couldn't have lunch," she said. She added, "Seeing that made me feel that unni was even more amazing. So I was so happy she won the award."
Lee Suji revealed Ji Ye-eun's warm heart at the time. She said, "Back then Ji Ye-eun said she could lend me money," and "She said she would help because I needed to find a new place to live." But she continued, "When I asked how much she could lend, she said 1,200,000 won, which made me laugh," causing the studio to burst into laughter.
Ji Ye-eun said, "At that time my entire assets were about 3,000,000 won. I had just started my activities," and "Still, I didn't think it was a pity to give that amount to unni." When Lee Suji asked, "How much could you lend now?" Ji Ye-eun said, "This unni has a lot of money now. I don't think she'll be scammed," and joked, "Whenever she passes by, all the ads are Lee Suji. She's stuffing money now. Like a golden toad, a golden pig," drawing laughter.
Their honest stories and affection for each other revealed a heartwarming "close-friend chemistry"<
