Actor So Jisub personally narrated for the film "Hind's Voice."
On the 17th, the film "Hind's Voice" (directed by Kautar Ben Haniya, imported by Chanran, distributed by The Contents ON, co-provided by First Man Studio·So Jisub) announced it will open on Apr. 15 and released the main trailer featuring So Jisub's narration and the first poster.
"Hind's Voice" reconstructs the time as a film centered on the "actual phone audio" record left by Hind, who was fleeing with her family and called for help to the international relief organization the Red Crescent after being trapped alone in a bombed car in the Gaza Strip on Jan. 29, 2024. Kautar Ben Haniya, who directed "The Man Who Sold His Skin" (2020) and "The Daughters of Olfa" (2023), directed the film, and Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, director Alfonso Cuarón, and director Jonathan Glazer are credited as executive producers.
Earlier, "Hind's Voice" set the record for the longest standing ovation in the history of the Venice International Film Festival at the 82nd festival while simultaneously winning the grand jury prize, and it was nominated for best international feature film at the 98th Academy Awards. Since then, reviews from the film world and the press poured in, saying, "With this film you can uphold an undeniable right to the truth. Refuse the role of silent bystander and become an active agent of international justice" (Alfonso Cuarón, director of "Gravity"), "It compresses the horrific realities of today's world" (Yorgos Lanthimos, director of "Bocognia"), "This film is close to perfect. Amid a war that has still not ended, this film, which adds meaning to film production and draws global attention, is set to open domestically on Apr. 15. Chanran handled the import, introducing titles such as "John of Interest," "Substance," and "Sirat," and First Man Studio, the production company of Squid Game Season, and So Jisub participated as co-providers.
In particular, So Jisub lent his voice to the narration in the released main trailer, conveying strong support for the film. The short video shows the process in which a rescue team that was only eight minutes away struggled for five hours to rescue Hind, and Hind's desperate real voice calling for help is fleeting but deeply moving to viewers' hearts.
And So Jisub's narration, "an eyewitness account that only film can provide, one that you will face fully with no ability to stop, avoid, or look away from," deepens the resonance. In addition, the first poster centers on a photo of Hind and captures the Red Crescent rescue team's efforts to save her, condensing all those moments into a single image.
"Hind's Voice," which has received strong support from the film community and an unprecedented selection by the Academy, opens on Apr. 15.<
