Actor Lee Mi-young confessed feelings of guilt toward her two daughters.
On the 16th episode of MBN "Body Insight," actor Lee Mi-young appeared and talked about her health.
That day Lee Mi-young met a close younger sister and they visited a jjimjilbang together. An acquaintance mentioned her married daughter and said, "Someone said daughters are gold medals," and Lee Mi-young agreed, saying, "That's right. Sons are silver medals. I heard that too."
But she said, "But I'm still the bronze medal. As I get older I should disappear quickly, but I keep holding the house down. I'm really worried about my kids," expressing concern about her two daughters, who still have no news of marriage.
The acquaintance scolded, "What are you worried about? The mother is worried; what do the kids have to worry about? Let go of your attachment to the kids." Lee Mi-young made a bitter expression and said, "People all tell me that. They tell me to let go, to release the kids, but I can't."
She said, "When they were little I divorced and lived apart from them, and we reunited when they were in the second year of high school. I feel that that time hurt them, and I pity them. I feel like a sinner. The kids keep saying, 'Mom, it's okay now. You don't have to be that sorry,' but I don't know. I don't think I can ever let it go until I die. It's a big problem," conveying her tender feelings.
Lee Mi-young married singer and actor Jeon Young-rok in 1985 and had daughters Tiara Jeon Bo-ram and former D-Unit member and singer Jeon Woo-ram. She divorced Jeon Young-rok in 1997, remarried an American professor in 2003, and experienced a second divorce in 2005.
