Former baseball player Hwang Jae-kyun opened up about his concerns as an entertainer on Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller.
On the 16th, which aired on KBS Joy, the variety program Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller (abbreviated as 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller') featured Hwang Jae-kyun as a guest.
Hwang Jae-kyun, who retired as a baseball player, sought advice dreaming of becoming an entertainer who once was an athlete like MC Seo Jang-hoon of Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller. However, he said, "Since retiring I've dreamed of being a broadcaster, but I sought out the fortune tellers because I still have obsessive compulsions about exercise that I can't let go of."
In response, Seo Jang-hoon emphasized, "Rather than exercising, read books to understand people's interests and watch variety shows," and Lee Soo-keun also joked, "If you give me about 6,000 a month I'll train you. Let's have skit lessons once every two weeks."
In particular, Lee Soo-keun suggested, "How about joining a program where you can show your character by filming for a long time, like 2 Days & 1 Night? '2 Days & 1 Night' seems good," which drew laughter. Hwang Jae-kyun had previously married Ji-yeon, formerly of girl group T-ara, but their noisy divorce had been a hot topic. Embarrassed, Hwang Jae-kyun said with an awkward smile, "My mother is very shy, so I think she would find appearing on broadcasts difficult," and added, "I'd rather go on a 'I'm SOLO' divorced special or something," jokingly making fun of himself and drawing more laughter.
After laughing at Hwang Jae-kyun's resolve, Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-keun offered sincere advice. Seo Jang-hoon advised, "Don't feel anxious; take it slowly. If you suddenly try to be funny, people may find you off-putting," and Lee Soo-keun emphasized, "Don't force what you can't do; it's important to work hard at what you're good at."
Hwang Jae-kyun married Ji-yeon, formerly of T-ara, after about a year of dating in 2022, which drew attention. However, after repeated reports of separation and divorce, they reached an agreed divorce in October 2024. Since retiring from baseball, he has been appearing on numerous variety programs.
