Former fencing national team member Kim Jun-Ho revealed the reason he decided to retire at the early age of 29.
On the 16th, a new video titled "When you get married you have conversations like this (T vs F)" was released on the YouTube channel "Junho not Junho."
That day, Kim Jun-Ho and his wife showed differences in how they express affection. His wife said, "I'm not the type to show affection well either, but I do it more on purpose because I don't want our children to grow up like that." The couple took a "love language" test, and Kim Jun-Ho's top way of feeling love was gifts. His wife, on the other hand, had the exact opposite result.
His wife said, "More than gifts, though gifts are nice, I prefer actions that show this person is thinking of me," and Kim Jun-Ho replied, "Rather than gifts, a sincere letter?" and gave an example, "For example, there's a car, and there's a card."
His wife said, "Of course it's the car," and Kim Jun-Ho said, "What the," while adding, "When I was an athlete and couldn't earn money, I received a lot of gifts. I think the idea that when I earn money I should give something back was deeply ingrained. This seems to be my way of expressing myself. Because I received that much," he said.
Kim Jun-Ho also recalled the episode of reading the letter he wrote at his second child's first birthday party and bringing himself to tears, saying, "When I was an athlete, there were times I saw them once every three months. The children reacted differently when they saw me and when they saw their mother. The wife is seen as a parent, but I felt like they saw me as a stranger," he lamented.
He went on to say, "When I felt that Eun-woo seemed not to know I was his father, I felt there was no point in continuing to train," revealing the reason he decided to retire, and his wife sympathized, saying, "I could feel a lot from that one tear. Even though he didn't say it in words, I realized it was like a burden in his heart."
Meanwhile, Kim Jun-Ho married flight attendant Yook Jeong-hyun, who is five years his senior, in 2018 and has two sons.
