The King's Warden director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Hai Jin, whose film surpassed 13 million admissions, appear on MBC's 'Son Seok-hee's Questions.' It airs at 9 p.m. on the 18th, the night after they finished a gratitude greeting for the box office success.
In less than a month and a half since its Feb. 4 opening, the stories generated by The King's Warden have been abundant. The historical narrative known as the Danjong tragedy and the narratives held by director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Hai Jin were also important, unexpected factors in the film's box office success. A director who had only repeated failures met an actor who, despite having four films that drew more than 10 million viewers, was never flashy, and they brought the failed history of Danjong back to life; the story that led the public to conclude all of that as a "success" is a narrative only The King's Warden could have produced.
The two first met in director Jang Hang-jun's debut film Light the Lighter and, more than 20 years later, reunited to create an unexpected 13 million-admission film. The film is still running solo, and no one knows what the final audience total will be. As the film surpassed 10 million viewers, Jang Hang-jun faced a string of interviews, and host Son Seok-hee lamented that he had trouble finding questions others hadn't asked.
The rare joint appearance by director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Hai Jin on MBC's 'Son Seok-hee's Questions' is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on Wednesday the 18th.
