The group BTS will turn the entire city of Seoul into a festival to mark their comeback.
BTS posted detailed program information for 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL' (BTS the city Arirang Seoul, hereafter "the city Seoul") on the global superfan platform (Weverse) on the 16th. "The city Seoul" is an urban project that will take place across the city from the 20th to April 19. Program participants will enjoy pleasures that can be felt only at specific times and in those spaces and will experience the "scarcity of experience."
On the 20th, when the new album "Arirang" (ARIRANG) is released, a series of large events will unfold. Media facades will begin at 7 p.m. at locations including Sungnyemun and Namsan Seoul Tower. The sky over Ttukseom Han River Park will light up with a drone light show for about 15 minutes starting at 8:30 p.m.
Gwanghwamun Square, where "BTS comeback live: Arirang" (BTS the comeback live|ARIRANG) will be held, will also be filled with a festive atmosphere. From 7 p.m. on the 20th until midnight on the 21st, BTS comeback–related content will be broadcast on the large outdoor screens installed around the square. Music light shows will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (hereafter "DDP") and the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. DDP will operate from March 20 to April 12, and Banpo Bridge will run on March 21–22, offering romance to visitors.
There will also be plenty of activities to enjoy. At venues hosting "the city" programs, such as Yeouido, DDP and Shinsegae Square, visitors can participate in a "stamp rally" mission to receive visit confirmation. It is expected to be an opportunity to tour all of Seoul while enjoying the fun of collecting stamps.
From March 20 to 22, the event plaza at Yeouido Han River Park will transform into a space filled with music. A "love song lounge" for sharing and listening to music will operate, and this place in particular is expected to attract significant fan interest as it is linked to the new album's global campaign phrase "WHAT IS YOUR LOVE SONG?". Visitors can enjoy experiential content centered on songs, busking and photo zones. From April 6 to 12, Exhibition Hall 1 at DDP will be arranged as "DDP Armi Madang." From April 6 to 19, places such as Cheonggyecheon and Yongsan Station will feature the "Love Quarter" program, drawing citizens' footsteps. Media direction will implement BTS's new album message with light and video using stone walls, stairs and street trees as backdrops.
In addition, programs connected with mobility, lodging, finance and F&B sectors will be presented. This aims to improve visitors' travel convenience and expand opportunities to experience "the city" in everyday life. Collaboration with new business sectors is expected to offer more advanced experiences and enjoyment than the existing "the city."
Detailed schedules and program information for "the city Seoul" can be found on BTS's Weverse channel and the official website. Some programs will operate on a reservation basis. BTS THE CITY ARIRANG will start in Seoul and will be rolled out sequentially in major cities around the world.
