Group SHINee member Onew (ONEW) achieved a solo career high with his comeback.
According to Hanteo Chart, a music sales tracking site, Onew's fifth mini album TOUGH LOVE (터프 러브) sold a total of 111,958 copies during its first week of release (tracking period March 9–March 15).
This is a career high for Onew as a solo artist. In particular, TOUGH LOVE is a significant achievement because Onew not only wrote the lyrics for all the songs but also, for the first time since his debut, participated in composing the album.
TOUGH LOVE breaks away from clichéd love stories and weaves together the "various facets of love" we encounter in the world like a novel. Declaring an expansion of Onew's distinctive musical worldview, the album proves his musical capabilities not just as an artist but as a producer.
Chart performance at home and abroad is also noteworthy. Immediately after its release, TOUGH LOVE topped the iTunes "Top Albums" charts in nine countries and regions worldwide, including Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Indonesia, Japan, Chile, Taipei, the Philippines and Hong Kong. The title track of the album, also called TOUGH LOVE, is topping major domestic music streaming site Bugs' top 100 and is enjoying widespread popularity.
Starting in Taipei on April 3, Onew will hold the Asian fan meeting tour 2026 ONEW FANMEETING "TOUGH LOVE" in Osaka on April 24–26 and Tokyo on May 13–14.
