On the 16th, Insooni and her husband appeared on TV CHOSUN's "Joseon's lover."
Insooni said of her husband, who is a golf instructor, "On weekends I become a widow. On days when he rests at home he goes out to play golf. People say 'she becomes a weekend widow.' How would he have won all those (golf-related) awards? Didn't he win them by leaving me at home," she explained.
Insooni's husband showed he carefully looks after his wife by directly managing Insooni's medication. Insooni said as a way to avoid marital fights, "I watch my words. We use honorifics with each other." The husband also joked, "We usually use honorifics with each other. I'm younger. It feels awkward for a younger person to use casual speech with an elder," drawing laughter.
Insooni said she and her husband climb mountains and focus on self-care for their health throughout the week. When the couple arrived at the pavilion, the husband was seen taking care of Insooni first with water and fruit, and Insooni made a displeased face saying, "The editing is so biased."
The production team asked how the two met. The husband said, "At that time it was the shop run by teacher Lee Joo-il. I was childhood friends with his son. A friend asked me to help the father's business. I was working as a school teacher. I was in charge of settling the appearance fees for that establishment. My wife was treated with the highest respect. From my position she was above me," he said.
The husband added, "One day my wife greeted me. She grabbed me as I was passing by and said, 'Why don't you return my greeting?' My wife asked me out on a date first. That's important. It wasn't that I chased after her; I wasn't thinking about it at all."
Insooni explained the reason she asked him out, "I had a car accident then. I felt the futility of life. I wondered, 'Who was I?' and I wanted counseling, so I asked to meet." The husband said, "That day was Dec. 24. Why would she spend such a good day with me? We got closer after that," and said he still remembers the date.
Insooni said, "After much thought she said she wanted to go to the natural garden. While waiting to ride the ferris wheel, my husband said, 'Let's go up and kiss.' From the moment we went up I was thinking, 'When? When will this man?' The ride time felt maddening. Red lipstick was in fashion then and her mouth was red. It was like I pounced on her," she said, drawing laughter.
The husband said, "At first she consulted me about dating. She even brought her ex-boyfriend," and Insooni said, "After performances my husband always bought roses and chocolates and waited for me. It only cost about 1,800 won, but to me it felt like 180 million won. I was so grateful and happy that he treated me like an ordinary person."
