"Jo Dongari" broadcaster Haha quit smoking successfully thinking of his youngest daughter who battled a rare disease.
Haha appeared in the content "Secrets of the Jo Dongari seniors that Haha witnessed before his debut," released on the YouTube channel "Jo Dongari" on the 15th, and mentioned he quit smoking for his youngest daughter.
Kim Yong Man, Jee Seokjin and Kim Soo-yong mentioned PPL on the YouTube channel and said there are many health supplement advertisements. Jee Seokjin said, "Besides, it hesitated a bit, but when this person came back to life, it gained momentum," and laughed.
Then Haha looked at Kim Soo-yong and said in surprise, "Indeed, after you quit drinking and smoking, your complexion has truly changed, I swear to God," and was amazed. Kim Soo-yong previously suffered a heart attack from acute myocardial infarction last year and recovered after emergency procedures.
Jee Seokjin said, "I really changed after quitting smoking. It's been several years since I quit, too," he said. Kim Soo-yong asked Haha whether he smoked, and Haha said he succeeded in quitting smoking.
Haha began, "I quit smoking. Four years ago. When our Song-i was sick," and honestly confessed, "I was too shameless before God. I lived recklessly and did nothing right. One thing I might have to give up that I liked was cigarettes. I completely distanced myself because I was afraid that if I smoked again, she might get sick again."
Haha married singer Byul in 2012 and has two sons and a daughter. In 2022, he revealed that his youngest daughter Song-i was suffering from the rare disease Guillain-Barré syndrome and received much support. Guillain-Barré syndrome is known as an inflammatory disorder of unclear cause that appears extensively in peripheral nerves and cranial nerves. Haha's youngest daughter later received a full recovery diagnosis and is growing up healthy.
Kim Yong Man also revealed what prompted him to quit smoking. He explained, "I stood up then but couldn't get up. It took 10 minutes to catch my breath. That day I was hosting the MBC Entertainment Awards. Between part one and part two, senior Lee Ju-il came out and said, 'Nationals, I beg you for one thing. Quit smoking.' It felt like he was talking to me. I immediately ordered nicotine patches. After three days of the nicotine patch, the smell was disgusting. That was when I said goodbye."
