Group member Jeon Ji-yoon of 4Minute revealed that she has become a web novel writer
On the 13th, a new video titled "A gathering of people who find web novels more fun than shorts" was released on the YouTube channel "Jjin-deul-ui Page."
That day the guest was 4Minute's Jeon Ji-yoon, who appeared and talked. Nam Do-hyung introduced her by saying, "Today she is not the artist Jeon Ji-yoon we are familiar with, but she is here as a web novel writer," and Jeon Ji-yoon said, "I have been keeping my activities as a web novel writer a secret so not many people know, but I was contacted. This is my first time appearing on a broadcast as a web novel writer."
She added, "I'm definitely an otaku, but it's my first time appearing somewhere as a writer so I'm very excited. Because everyone is such a fan. People I had only seen through media..." and laughed.
When asked about the web novel that got her into the genre, Jeon Ji-yoon said, "If I had to pick a web novel, it would be 'Solo Leveling'," and when asked about the qualities of an otaku she said, "I went on a trip but I kept wondering about the next episode of that web novel and wanted to get back in quickly. I just went sightseeing and then went back in and reread that web novel."
Jeon Ji-yoon mentioned a close friend's reaction, saying, "A friend who went with me said, 'You are... you are truly remarkable,'" and explained the fun web novels give: "They seem to offer a kind of experiential pleasure. Shorts give strong stimulation quickly. Even with the same sentence, people interpret web novels very differently."
When asked whether she was told she wrote well as a child, she held up an 'X' sign and added, "I didn't write novels but fan fiction. Fan fiction is really a novel too. I wrote and circulated it only among classmates. Since the kids were fans too, they liked it."
Meanwhile, Jeon Ji-yoon debuted in 2009 as a member of the group 4Minute.
