Kim Garam, who left LE SSERAFIM amid school violence allegations, opened a YouTube channel and announced a new start as a YouTuber.
On the 13th, Kim Garam created the 'garamonly' channel and uploaded her first video titled ep. 01.
In the video that day, Kim Garam visited a practice room. Standing in front of the camera, she said, "Hello. The reason I decided to start making videos is that I wanted to record my acting videos, practice videos, or capture moments of my daily life, so I decided to turn on the camera," explaining why she opened the channel.
Kim Garam said, "I've never done something like this before, so it's very awkward, but please understand and let's give it a try. Fighting!" and expressed her determination, then showed footage of herself focusing on studying acting.
She studied in the school library or took acting lessons, and at home she filmed her own acting videos to review. In addition, Kim Garam picked up a guitar and said, "This is a song I've been practicing lately. Try to match it," while playing the guitar.
Earlier, Kim Garam debuted as a member of LE SSERAFIM in May 2022. However, allegations of school violence surrounding Kim Garam were raised as soon as the debut teaser was released, and Kim Garam's side denied the allegations, calling them "malicious slander" and saying "I was actually a victim of school violence while attending middle school," and announced their intention to take legal action against the accusers.
However, additional exposés followed, including notification of the results from the school violence countermeasure committee, and Kim Garam's side acknowledged the disciplinary decision by the committee itself while explaining that the actions had been intended to protest inappropriate behavior by the accusers and that there had been no physical assault. They said, "During this debut process we were attacked by all sorts of rumors, and this caused psychological difficulties. Therefore, after discussing with Kim Garam, we decided to temporarily suspend activities and focus on healing her wounded heart," and she halted activities 18 days after her debut; eventually Kim Garam announced in July that she had terminated her exclusive contract with Source Music and left LE SSERAFIM.
After leaving the group, Kim Garam opened a personal SNS account last May, fueling speculation about a return to activities in the entertainment industry. In addition, reports spread that she had signed an exclusive contract with Modenberry Korea, but Modenberry Korea drew a line, calling it "groundless." It is true they had a meeting with Kim Garam, but it is said they concluded not to sign a contract.
In particular, after leaving the team it was revealed that Kim Garam had been accepted to the class of 2024 in the Department of Media Acting at Konkuk University College of Arts and Design, which drew attention. Amid this, Kim Garam opened a YouTube channel and began sharing the daily life of a college student studying acting. Attention is focusing on what steps she will take next.
