Singer Ailee and her husband Choi Si-hoon revealed their earnest desire for a second child and shared an update that they are preparing for it.
Recently, on the YouTube channel they run together, Illyne marriage diary, the two were shown visiting a hospital to receive a hysterosalpingogram, a necessary test before in vitro fertilization. Choi Si-hoon said, "This is the first step to becoming mom and dad. I'm nervous but excited; let's go with a fluttering heart," as he soothed Ailee, and Ailee honestly confessed, "I'm excited but I'm really scared. I'm worried it might hurt."
On that day the two even preselected a pet name for the baby who has not yet been born. Choi Si-hoon said, "Coco, if you come to mom and dad you must behave very well. Especially be good to mom," and Ailee laughed, "We haven't even conceived yet and we've already given a pet name."
Meanwhile, Ailee recently shared the in vitro fertilization preparation process in a channel short video. In the video she said, "When I open my eyes in the morning it feels like a horror movie. Someone beside me says, 'Let's get the shot, it will sting,' " and candidly described her routine of getting ovarian stimulation injections.
Currently the two are receiving hormone injections at the same time every day for a set period as part of the in vitro fertilization preparation. Footage showing Choi Si-hoon waking Ailee and administering the injections himself drew attention.
Earlier Ailee also spoke about a moment when she was moved to tears watching prospective mothers. She said, "Seeing the people lying in the hospital beds, some were in so much pain, and others were lying still because the anesthesia hadn't fully worn off," and added, "I thought everyone was enduring hardships because they desperately want a child." She continued, "I was resting lying down, and when I recalled that scene I suddenly cried. I hoped everyone would succeed and have good news," expressing empathy.
Afterward the two also went hiking Cheonggyesan, which had been on their bucket list. After reaching the summit they prayed fervently, "Please let a healthy baby angel come to us," adding to the sentimentality. Many continue to send support hoping the couple's earnest wish for a second child will come true.
