'I Live Alone' Ko Kang-yong revealed the reality that he must go all-in forever.
On the 13th broadcast of MBC variety show I Live Alone (hereinafter I Live Alone), Ko Kang-yong decided to move and was shown checking loans to raise funds.
That day Ko Kang-yong cited his reason for deciding to move, saying, "I'm already looking for my ninth home. There are various reasons. When I commuted between Hwasa and home it took a lot of time. It takes two to three hours round trip."
He continued, "I live in Jangchung-dong. If traffic is heavy to Sangam, it takes one hour and 20 minutes. I get trapped on the road. I felt I needed to reduce the time it takes."
The second reason was the cramped space. Ko Kang-yong confessed, "My current place and all of them are studio apartments. With no separation of space, productivity drops a lot. I felt this couldn't continue."
Having taken a half day off, Ko Kang-yong checked jeonse loan options through a phone consultation. He revealed, "All-in... no, I have to go all-in forever. I'm currently living in a monthly rental. The deposit is 30 million won and the monthly rent is 580,000 won. If I gather everything, pull a bank loan, and push myself, I think I can go up to 200 million won, so I think I have to take out a loan."
After finishing the phone consultation, he visited MBC's in-house bank. He explained that the in-house bank loans have relatively low lending rates and that jeonse loans require at least two years of employment.
A bank employee told him that if he borrowed 20 million won, about 600,000 won of principal would be deducted from his monthly salary, but Ko Kang-yong was in a situation where he could not get a jeonse loan because he had not been employed for two years.
Already looking mentally worn, Ko Kang-yong asked while listening to the explanation, "Will the money that was deducted every month be returned later?" which drew laughter.
