Actor Park Bo Gum drew attention with unwavering "positive energy" even on a bitterly cold snowy mountain.
On the 13th episode of tvN variety show "Bogum Magical," which aired on the 13th, the appearance of Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong- yeon setting out to climb Deogyusan on the sixth day of the barbershop's holiday was revealed.
That day the three headed to Deogyusan in Muju, North Jeolla Province, to mark the barbershop's first day off. Deogyusan has an elevation of 1,614m and is the fourth highest mountain in Korea. In particular, the day they set out for the hike saw the strongest cold wave of this winter, and an overnight heavy snowfall created extreme conditions.
The three, who departed for Deogyusan at 6 a.m., showed excitement singing in the car. But when they arrived at the entrance to Deogyusan and got out of the car, the situation changed. Lee Sang Yi showed signs of unease, saying "the wind feels a bit strange," and Park Bo Gum also appeared flustered by the colder-than-expected weather, saying "Are you wearing long johns? I'm not wearing them either."
After taking the gondola to Seolcheonbong, a snowy mountain landscape with blizzards unfolded. Even in conditions where snow had piled up so much that you could not see an inch ahead, Lee Sang Yi ran through the snowfield excitedly, and the three began their full-scale hike.
In the biting cold with a wind chill reaching minus 15 degrees, Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong- yeon repeatedly shouted "it's cold." Kwak Dong- yeon said, "Above all, I want to drink cocoa," and Lee Sang Yi said, "My nose is already frozen," feeling the severity of the cold.
As their breathing grew heavier on the steep stairway and in the strong wind, Park Bo Gum appeared relaxed, humming to himself. He attracted attention with a bright expression, saying, "Climbing a snowy mountain like this makes me more excited and it's fun."
The three, who did not give up despite the severe cold, reached their target point, Deogyusan Jungbong, at an elevation of 1,564m, in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. But at the summit a blizzard blew so strongly that nothing could be seen, producing a scene that drew laughter.
After the broadcast, viewers responded to Park Bo Gum's positive energy. Internet users praised him with comments such as "Humming in that cold? He really has great stamina," "Park Bo Gum always overflows with positive energy," "If I climbed with him it might be less hard even if it's tough," and "Besides his stamina, his mindset is really great."
