The group NEWBEAT (NEWBEAT, Park Min-seok·Hong Min-seong·Jeon Yeo-yeo-jeong·Choi Seo-hyun·Kim Tae-yang·Jo Yun-hoo·Kim Ri-woo) member Park Min-seok released the digital single Boyfriend today (14) at 12 a.m. (local time) on a Chinese music platform, a collaboration with Li Yuanzao.
Boyfriend is an emotional R&B song featuring an acoustic guitar riff that stands out, a love song that unravels love through the differing perspectives of a man and a woman. Li Yuanzao speaks of love and excitement in a first-person monologue, while Park Min-seok delivers a message from a third-person perspective cheering on the person who first found the courage.
In particular, the song raised the listening enjoyment by combining Park Min-seok's sweet yet solid vocals with Li Yuanzao's distinctive voice. The harmonious tones of the two heightened the song's sense of excitement.
Li Yuanzao is a singer-songwriter with 1.04 million followers on Douyin, China's TikTok, and visited Korea in person to record for this collaboration. News of the cross-border collaboration between the two has heightened reactions from Korean and Chinese fans.
NEWBEAT recently swept six No. 1s on Amazon Music in the United States with one of the double title tracks from their first mini album, Look So Good, and continued an unstoppable run, signing a management contract with Chinese major entertainment company Modern Sky. This collaboration is also expected to serve as an opportunity to expand NEWBEAT's global influence.
Meanwhile, NEWBEAT, which includes Park Min-seok, will wrap up their first national tour concert, 2026 Drop the NEWBEAT: NEURO 1000 PROJECT, at Musinsa Garage in Mapo-gu, Seoul, over two days on the 14th and 15th.
