'Boyfriend on Demand' Yoo Seon-ho acted as cupid for Ji-soo·Seo Inguk.
On Feb. 6, the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand was released; it is a romantic comedy about a webtoon producer, Mi-rae (played by Ji-soo), who is tired of real life and subscribes to a virtual dating simulation to experience having a boyfriend and living out her romantic fantasies.
Yoo Seon-ho appeared as the popular webtoon artist "Hwani," drawing attention. Hwani is a character with fresh, candid charm and is a rising writer in the webtoon world. Yoo Seon-ho fully embodied Hwani, acting as the chemistry fairy in Boyfriend on Demand and injecting fun into the series. He alternately shows playful bickering chemistry with rival webtoon writer Yoon Song (played by Gong Min-jung), who publishes on the same day, and displays a strong bromance chemistry with his producer, Gyeong-nam (played by Seo Inguk).
In particular, after revealing his feelings for So-young (played by Lee Su-min) following Yoon Song's misunderstanding that he liked her, he depicted the fresh, bright aspects of youth who cannot hide their affection for him with natural, realistic acting that made viewers smile. At the same time, he showed his deft dating-advice skills by offering frank, straightforward advice to Gyeong-nam, who was troubled about his relationship with Mi-rae, displaying a surprising charm and acting as their cupid while shining on screen.
Having built a solid filmography with works such as Oh My Ghost Clients, The Tale of Lady Yeon-joo's Contract Marriage, and Under The Queen's Umbrella, Yoo Seon-ho perfectly immersed himself in Hwani and once again demonstrated his acting ability and charm. Alongside this work, Boyfriend on Demand, anticipation is growing for his varied future moves and performances in upcoming projects such as the film Made in Itaewon and the drama Dreambound.
