'Show Me the Money 12' showcased the pinnacle of spicy diss battles and confirmed 14 survivors.
On the 12th (Thursday) episode of Mnet's Show Me the Money 12, episode 9, 16 rappers who survived the 'digital single mission' entered the 'team diss mission.' With matchups confirmed as Gray·Roco vs. Lil Moshpit·Park Jaebeom, Jay Tong·Hurkey Shibaseki vs. Zico·Crush, relentless provocations and witty diss stages poured out, drawing strong reactions from viewers.
The team diss mission proceeded with round 1 as 1:1 individual battles and round 2 as 4:4 team battles. The winning team all survived, but the losing team had one elimination, heightening the tension.
First to face off were Gray·Roco and Lil Moshpit·Park Jaebeom, where fierce 1:1 individual battles unfolded. Starting with the first showdown between Forgiathebottom and Trevi, which featured a witty fart performance, followed by Mili and Flowsik adding unique fun with a global rap battle, Mason Home and Jeffrey White staging a 'family feud' as fellow Okashi crew rappers, and Kwon Oseon and Zene the Zilla delivering a standout 1:1 clash with a same-beat counter strategy, offering the thrill of diss battles. The ensuing team battles further heated the atmosphere with not only the summoning of dark pasts but also prop use, skit-style performances and unrestrained diss rap.
The matchup between Jay Tong·Hurkey Shibaseki and Zico·Crush was also intense. After the 1:1 between Flickybang and Rafsanduh, which even featured a diamond tester, Double Down and Jeong Junhyuk launched fierce rap counterattacks, Royal 44 and Mave cleverly targeted each other's gaps, and the intra-label battle between Now I Am Young and Kim Haon became a legendary stage with the provocation "I'll make you retire" and a chilling rap battle. In the following team battle, a stage using the 'Turtle Ship' beat, a mega hit from Show Me the Money, appeared and heated the mood.
In the final result, Lil Moshpit·Park Jaebeom and Zico·Crush teams each claimed victory. While both teams succeeded in having all members survive, the losing Gray·Roco team and Jay Tong·Hurkey Shibaseki team each had one elimination. The eliminated contestants were Forgiathebottom and Double Down.
At the end of the broadcast, the much-anticipated main stage featuring the 14 survivors was previewed, raising curiosity. The main competition, the gateway to the semifinals, will begin with a star-studded lineup of featured artists from Bobby to Jus2is. Expectations are high about what legendary stages will emerge in the main competition and who will be the top nine to advance to the semifinals.
With only three episodes left until the finale, Show Me the Money 12 airs every Thursday at 9:20 p.m. on Mnet and TVING.
