Actor Jung Yi-chan takes on his first title role through "Doctor Shin," delivering a weighty presence.
Jung Yi-chan appears as Shin Joo-shin in TV CHOSUN's new weekend miniseries "Doctor Shin," written by Phoebe (Im Seong-han), directed by Lee Seung-hoon, and produced by Scene&Studio and T.M. Group, which premieres on the 14th.
"Doctor Shin" is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor who challenges the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain is damaged overnight and who is losing her soul. Through the bizarre romances of a top star who fell into a coma due to an unfortunate accident, the man who loved her, and the man who loves her now, the series will portray a shocking narrative that traverses love and desire, taboo and sacrifice.
In the story, Shin Joo-shin is the head of neurosurgery at Nooa Hospital and chairman of the Nooa Foundation orphanage, a brain surgery authority with near-miraculous skills surpassing those of his late father, Dr. Shin Woo-pil. He has everything: exceptional ability as a doctor, an uncanny-looking appearance, and a solid family background.
In particular, Jung Yi-chan draws attention by taking on long hair and undergoing a dramatic visual transformation. Expectations are rising for Jung Yi-chan's performance, which will create an even deeper atmosphere with an unapproachable charisma.
So far, Jung Yi-chan proved his excellent acting skills by playing a student activist in KBS2's "Oasis" and Hwang Ga-ron, the fourth prince of Jin Hoeguk, in "Love Song For Illusion." After expanding his acting range by navigating the various emotional lines of each character, attention is focused on the new side he will show in "Doctor Shin."
Meanwhile, TV CHOSUN's new weekend miniseries "Doctor Shin," featuring Jung Yi-chan, premieres on the 14th at 10:30 p.m.
